The Museum of Science and Industry, Chicago opened its new permanent exhibit, Future Energy Chicago, which challenges guests to compete on teams to make wise energy choices for a more sustainable city. Electrosonic teamed with exhibit designers Evidence Design, interactive designers Potion Design and Steve Haas Acoustics (SH Acoustics), to provide the audio-visual systems for the exhibit’s film and simulation game. Electrosonic’s Design Consulting team was involved from the start, providing the systems design and custom programming.

Annenberg Space for Photography Skylight Studios

Los Angeles, California

The Annenberg Space for Photography exhibits digital and print photography by some of the world’s most renowned photographers and emerging talents. The new Skylight Studios provides an enhanced lecture viewing experience through state-of-the-art audio-visual equipment, a concert-quality audio system and HD broadcast capabilities. It’s the new home for the long-running, free Iris Nights lecture series and the Meet & Greet program where visitors interact with photographers and photo editors.

Hershey’s Great Chocolate Factory Mystery in 4D

Hershey’s Chocolate World in Pennsylvania opened a new 12-minute 4D show called “Hershey’s Great Chocolate Factory Mystery in 4D.” The unique real-time stereo 3D experience with 4D effects features technology from Jim Henson’s Creature Shop, and offers over 100 outcomes as the audience determines the direction of the story through participation. Electrosonic refurbished the 4D theater, where it had previously installed equipment in 2005, to accommodate the new show, and provided design, installation and programming services for the new audio, video and control system.

Space Shuttle Atlantis at Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex

Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex near Orlando unveiled a space exploration attraction, Space Shuttle AtlantisSM, at what is now the new home of the historic spacecraft. The 90,000-square foot facility includes multimedia presentations that feature more than 60 interactive exhibits and AV simulators that provide a look at the 33 missions of Atlantis. Working with operators Delaware North Companies Parks & Resorts and design firm PGAV Destinations, Electrosonic provided AV design consulting, integration and installation.

The Story of JCB

World-renowned construction and agricultural equipment company JCB opened a new brand experience at its headquarters in Rocester, England. The 25,000 square-foot installation, which combines a museum, a showroom and an immersive exhibition, is housed in the former JCB Design Centre. Electrosonic continued a long association with JCB, which goes back some 40 years, by providing AV integrated presentations to help visitors interpret “The Story of JCB.”

Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame

Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame opened a new 40,000 square-foot space at Canada Olympic Park in Calgary that celebrates the country’s impressive and inspiring sports history. Electrosonic provided audio-visual systems for every aspect of the new museum, which includes 11 exhibit galleries representing 58 sports, plus more than 50 interactive visitor experiences.

The Heineken Experience at the Heineken Brewery

A new Heineken Experience opened at the historic Heineken Brewery in Amsterdam at the beginning of December 2008. Designed and produced by BRC Imagination Arts, the re-designed visitor experience makes extensive use of specially produced high definition video programmes. Electrosonic’s UK office was appointed by BRC,, as its principal sub-contractor for audio-visual systems integration.

The Siemens Crystal

The Crystal is a sustainable cities initiative by Siemens, the global electronics and electrical engineering powerhouse. Located at London’s Royal Victoria Dock, the 21,500-square foot interactive exhibition serves as home to Siemens’ Center of Competence – Cities, a team of multi-disciplinary urban experts, and guides visitors through the urban infrastructure of the future by examining the possibilities for sustainable mobility, building technologies, power and water supplies, and healthcare. Designed and produced by Event Communications, the exhibition features extensive audio-visual systems engineered and installed by Electrosonic.
