Electrosonic achieves ISO14001 the prestigious international environmental standard

Electrosonic is pleased to announce that it has achieved the highly respected ISO 14001, the international recognised standard for an organisation’s Environmental Management Systems (EMS).

Electrosonic has always taken its responsibility to the environment seriously and with the achievement of ISO14001, Electrosonic has successfully demonstrated its EMS not only complies with the latest environmental legislation, but will uncover ways in which they can continually reduce their environmental impacts. In addition, it will ensure the coordination of their environmental activities to achieve greater organisational efficiency and effectiveness.

David Ambrose, Managing Director, Electrosonic said: “We are extremely delighted to have achieved ISO14001. This is something that every department in the company has played a part. We are determined to continuously improve our environmental performance and minimise environmental impacts, and this will also help us to reduce costs through greater efficiencies.”

Electrosonic was accredited ISO 14001 by leading certification body NQA. Both an initial and main assessment are required in order to achieve ISO 14001 certification. The certificate is issued if both mandatory visits are successful and inspections are carried out to ensure that standards are maintained.

Head of NQA, Catherine Golds said: “Government, clients and consumers are all placing greater demands on companies to reduce their environmental impact. A company such as Electrosonic, that has achieved ISO 14001, can demonstrate their ‘Green Credentials’ and that they are serious about reducing their impact on the environment.”
