Texas Spirit Theater at the Bullock Texas State History Museum

Austin, Texas

Opened in 2001, the Bullock Texas State History Museum in downtown Austin invites visitors to interpret for themselves the story of Texas history. Electrosonic provided a complete audio-visual systems upgrade and reprogramming of the museum’s 190-seat 4D Texas Spirit Theater. The theater is auditorium style with a standard proscenium stage plus two flanking openings.

The Museum of Science and Industry, Chicago opened its new permanent exhibit, Future Energy Chicago, which challenges guests to compete on teams to make wise energy choices for a more sustainable city. Electrosonic teamed with exhibit designers Evidence Design, interactive designers Potion Design and Steve Haas Acoustics (SH Acoustics), to provide the audio-visual systems for the exhibit’s film and simulation game. Electrosonic’s Design Consulting team was involved from the start, providing the systems design and custom programming.

Annenberg Space for Photography Skylight Studios

Los Angeles, California

The Annenberg Space for Photography exhibits digital and print photography by some of the world’s most renowned photographers and emerging talents. The new Skylight Studios provides an enhanced lecture viewing experience through state-of-the-art audio-visual equipment, a concert-quality audio system and HD broadcast capabilities. It’s the new home for the long-running, free Iris Nights lecture series and the Meet & Greet program where visitors interact with photographers and photo editors.

Polynesian Cultural Center’s Digital 4D Theater

Laie, Hawaii

The Polynesian Cultural Center (PCC) in Laie, Hawaii, enables visitors to explore all of the Polynesian cultures in the South Pacific. Set on 42 acres on the North Shore of Oahu, PCC has welcomed over 37 million guests since opening, becoming Hawaii’s number-one paid attraction. To celebrate its 50th anniversary, PCC upgraded its aging film-based IMAX theater, which was more than 20 years old, with a new digital 4D theater featuring audio-visual support from Electrosonic.

Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex Entry Area

Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex, which offers visitors interactive and educational activities to explore the U.S. space program, recently reconfigured the entry area into the park. Electrosonic was brought on board by Delaware North Companies Parks & Resorts, which operates Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex on behalf of NASA, and worked closely with Whiting-Turner Construction to provide the audio-visual design, infrastructure, equipment and programming for the background music, audio messaging and video signage for ticketing and guest relations services.

The Heineken Experience at the Heineken Brewery

A new Heineken Experience opened at the historic Heineken Brewery in Amsterdam at the beginning of December 2008. Designed and produced by BRC Imagination Arts, the re-designed visitor experience makes extensive use of specially produced high definition video programmes. Electrosonic’s UK office was appointed by BRC, www.brcweb.com, as its principal sub-contractor for audio-visual systems integration.

The Performing Arts Education Centers of Las Virgenes

The Las Virgenes Unified School District (LVUSD) opened the doors to its two new Performing Arts Education Centers located at Calabasas High School and Agoura Hills High School in California. The two almost identical theaters were designed by renowned architect John Sergio Fisher & Associates (JSFA). Electrosonic’s Design Consulting team provided the audio system design for the theaters, and also designed the theatrical intercom and video distribution systems.

Typhoon Theatre at the Maritime Experiential Museum in Singapore

Visitors to the Maritime Experiential Museum at Resorts World Sentosa, Singapore can get an up-close look at a shipwreck in the Typhoon Theatre where Electrosonic provided audio-visual design, engineering, integration and installation of the audio, video and control equipment to help simulate an amazing historical journey. The company was hired by Sunray Woodcraft Construction and worked under the general guidance of museum designers Ralph Appelbaum Associates. Super 78 created the content for the attraction.

AT&T Dolphin Tales at Georgia Aquarium

An inspiring theatrical production starring Atlantic bottlenose dolphins is thrilling and amazing visitors at the newly-expanded Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta. AT&T Dolphin Tales presents a sweeping 25-minute musical tribute to the beauty and grace of dolphins. Electrosonic played a major role in the show’s development, designing, supplying and installing all the audio and video equipment the show required. The show was crafted by Florida-based entertainment design and production company WOW!Works.

Jodrell Bank Discovery Centre

Jodrell Bank, home of the famous Lovell radio telescope, opened its new exhibition in April 2011 after upgrading its visitor facilities with the addition of two pavilions: the Planet Pavilion and the Space Pavilion. The pavilions house exhibitions on astronomy and the work of Jodrell Bank. The audio-visual and interactive elements of the exhibits were installed by Electrosonic under subcontract to the Moule Partnership.
