The Olympic Museum in Lausanne, Switzerland, recently reopened after a two-year renovation with new audio-visual and interactive systems that take visitors on what’s been called “a multidimensional journey across the Olympic Universe.” Electrosonic designed the AV system under subcontract with media producer Centre Screen Productions, and handled the system engineering and integration under a separate subcontract with Paragon Creative.

National September 11 Memorial & Museum

The National September 11 Memorial & Museum is an educational institution honoring victims of both the 9/11 terrorist attacks and the 1993 bombing. The historical exhibition uses artifacts, photographs, and media to explore the background leading up to the events and examines their aftermath and continuing global implications. Electrosonic provided the audio-visual systems for the museum, which is primarily located about 70-feet below ground in the footprints of the World Trade Center in Lower Manhattan.

National Civil Rights Museum

Memphis, Tennessee

The National Civil Rights Museum in Memphis reopened following a renovation, which added new spaces, films and interactive audio and video exhibits. Marking 50 years since the passage of the landmark Civil Rights Act, the museum retains the iconic Montgomery Bus, sit-in lunch counter and Memphis sanitation truck. Working closely with exhibition designers Howard+Revis Design Services, Electrosonic provided the AV design, installation and programming.

Battle of Bannockburn Visitor Centre

Stirling, Scotland

The Battle of Bannockburn in 1314 was one of the most decisive battles of the First War of Scottish Independence. Leading up to its 700th anniversary, the National Trust for Scotland’s new Battle of Bannockburn Visitor Centre in Stirling has become the first in the world to use fight choreography and motion capture techniques to immerse visitors in a realistic 3D battle. The complex projection system was designed by Electrosonic’s Design Consulting team and engineered and installed by Electrosonic’s Edinburgh office.

Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum

Hyde Park, New York

The Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum in Hyde Park, New York, has reopened after a three-year refurbishing of the building which FDR gave to the nation through the National Archives. Working under exhibit fabricator Explus, Electrosonic provided audio, video and multimedia programs, plus interactive touchscreen exhibits.

Future Energy Chicago at the Museum of Science and Industry, Chicago

The Museum of Science and Industry, Chicago opened its new permanent exhibit, Future Energy Chicago, which challenges guests to compete on teams to make wise energy choices for a more sustainable city. Electrosonic teamed with exhibit designers Evidence Design, interactive designers Potion Design and Steve Haas Acoustics (SH Acoustics), to provide the audio-visual systems for the exhibit’s film and simulation game. Electrosonic’s Design Consulting team was involved from the start, providing the systems design and custom programming.

Space Shuttle Atlantis at Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex

Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex near Orlando unveiled a space exploration attraction, Space Shuttle AtlantisSM, at what is now the new home of the historic spacecraft. The 90,000-square foot facility includes multimedia presentations that feature more than 60 interactive exhibits and AV simulators that provide a look at the 33 missions of Atlantis. Working with operators Delaware North Companies Parks & Resorts and design firm PGAV Destinations, Electrosonic provided AV design consulting, integration and installation.

Eaton Experience Center

Eaton, a power management company that provides energy-efficient solutions, opened a new campus in Cleveland, Ohio, which includes cutting-edge AV technology to communicate its values and its leading position in power management end markets to employees, customers, suppliers, business partners and political leaders. Electrosonic was charged with designing the AV systems, media control and power management for the Eaton Experience Center.

Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame opened a new 40,000 square-foot space at Canada Olympic Park in Calgary that celebrates the country’s impressive and inspiring sports history. Electrosonic provided audio-visual systems for every aspect of the new museum, which includes 11 exhibit galleries representing 58 sports, plus more than 50 interactive visitor experiences.

The Heineken Experience at the Heineken Brewery

A new Heineken Experience opened at the historic Heineken Brewery in Amsterdam at the beginning of December 2008. Designed and produced by BRC Imagination Arts, the re-designed visitor experience makes extensive use of specially produced high definition video programmes. Electrosonic’s UK office was appointed by BRC, www.brcweb.com, as its principal sub-contractor for audio-visual systems integration.
