Product Overview

VN-MATRIX acquires a video or graphics source formatted as analog RGB or digital DVI at resolutions up to 1600x1200, encodes the frame in a single 60Hz frame period, and streams the result onto an IP network. A second identical unit, configured as a decoder, receives an IP stream, and decodes it to an analog or DVI output, again in a single frame period. The source input is looped-through to allow local monitoring.

The Electrosonic VN-MATRIX high-resolution, real-time encoding and decoding process is carried out in parallel calculations using highly efficient discrete wavelet image transformations in state of the art Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA’s). High bandwidth network circuitry is capable of 500 Mbps throughput.

The product is implemented as a high-reliability embedded design in a small 1U high desktop appliance case.
