Modern AV solutions empower Crimestoppers UK.

Crimestoppers UK is a national charity that enables the community to pass on crime information whilst staying completely anonymous. Allowing thousands of people to speak up anonymously every single day. Crimestoppers tasked Electrosonic to provide them with an upgrade to their existing meeting room with a Microsoft Teams video conferencing system.

To replace the old overcomplicated technology, Electrosonic installed AV technology including an 86-inch interactive touchscreen and audio system along with arranged training to ensure that the team can maximize the screen’s functionality and performance.

Electrosonic provided design, build and support assistance to create an intuitive conferencing solution, including audio and control systems solutions that result in Crimestoppers employees having easier access to the system and benefit from the updated technology.

Smart functionality, simplified for every user.

Crimestoppers had an existing system that has become outdated and overly complex, resulting in limited use by employees. The system was operated by limited staff members who were familiar enough with the equipment, leading others to avoid the room altogether.

Their goal is to create an intuitive, user-friendly solution that would encourage employees to use the space comfortably, promptly and to maximum efficiency.

The solution created an interactive meeting room that allowed team members to easily access the technology that is required to help them complete their duties. The new retrofitted technology including touch displays, audio and camera systems, contributes to the ease of using the technology and the overall goal of making society a safer place.

Overcoming challenges to restore seamless functionality.

Electrosonic was tasked with overcoming a set of technical challenges that impacted the usability of the meeting rooms. The first issue involved compatibility between HDMI extenders and the HDMI input. Additionally, staff who joined calls while near the meeting rooms were unable to see content on their individual laptops.

To address the HDMI issue, Electrosonic conducted a thorough assessment of the setup and discovered the extent of the extenders' usefulness. Replacing it with a long HDMI cable not only resolved the compatibility problem but also simplified the system.

The user issue identified as a feature of Microsoft Teams. When a user is detected in proximity to a Teams Room via Bluetooth, the system assumes they are in the room and routes the content to the main display rather than the user’s device. Understanding the cause allowed us to resolve the problem quickly by visiting the site and altering the feature within the Teams Room App settings.

Through analyzing each challenge and implementing targeted solutions, Electrosonics simplified the setup and restore full functionality, ensuring a seamless and intuitive experience for all users.
