OVERVIEW

Summit One Vanderbilt is a 65,000 square feet observation deck on multiple floors of one of New York’s most impressive ‘supertall’ skyscrapers. The integrated visitor experience covers 26 unique spaces spanning 4 levels and features dramatic, synchronized audio and lighting effects mixed with video and highly personalized interactivity.

The audiovisual system consists of 233 speakers, 14 subwoofers, 11 LG displays, 5 planar displays, a 50 foot long Samsung Video Wall, 4 audio controllers, facial scanners and 14 video wall controllers managed by Crestron devices that act as the centralized control system. 

Electrosonic integrated all of the systems and provided a comprehensive, custom support package designed to maintain this large-scale audiovisual installation and ensure the best possible guest experience.

This unique museum is designed to showcase Panama’s extraordinary biodiversity in eight immersive galleries. The audiovisual systems required considerable customization to display correctly in the unusual viewing environment. Panamarama, for example, is a cube-shaped space where ten screens on all sides above and below a glass ceiling and floor immerse visitors. In the Gallery of Biodiversity, the owners wanted to create a flexible display that would capture visitors’ attention straight away, using a nine panel custom LCD screen that could display individual imagery or create a single large-scale panoramic experience.

SOLUTION

To meet the demanding support requirements, the owners SL Green selected Electrosonic’s Affinity Managed On-Site Services, an on-site audiovisual support program led by a dedicated On-Site Service Technician, who works as an extension of the Summit OV team, providing preventative maintenance and break-fix support. The On-Site Technician proactively conducts daily system checks, diagnoses problems and resolves issues as they arise. Our break-fix services and firmware updates help to maximize uptime and protect the client’s technology investments.
