A Long History with the AV Awards

The AV Awards highlight the biggest and best AV deployments globally. Projects must demonstrate innovation and creativity while creating an experience that guests will never forget.

2022 Highlights

This year, some incredible spaces and places landed on the AV Awards shortlist, including:

  • Illuminarium Atlanta was recognized in three categories—Venue Project of the Year, Events and Entertainment Project of the Year and Hospitality Project of the Year. It’s a sensory sensation with 360-degree sight, sound and scale that transports visitors into new worlds.
  • The Globe at AT&T Discovery District was a Corporate Project of the Year shortlist. It’s a 30-foot interactive rotating sculpture with dynamic audio and lighting.
  • The Skydeck Experience at Willis Tower was again a Themed Entertainment and Attractions Project of the Year finalist.
  • The Social Lab at the Museum of Tolerance earned honors in the Themed Entertainment and Attractions category. AV technology delivers an immersive exhibit that leverages ultra-high-resolution touchscreens, soundscapes and dynamic projection.
  • Summit One Vanderbilt was up for Themed Entertainment and Attractions and Venue Project of the Year, winning the latter. The attraction includes 26 unique spaces over four levels in New York City. It combines audio, lighting, video and interactivity. Its most exciting exhibit is Unity, which uses images taken by 3D facial scanners and casts them on a 50-foot-long floor-to-ceiling video wall, giving guests the sense of being among the clouds.

2021 Highlights

2021 was another banner year for Electrosonic and its partners, which launched new and impressive experiential designs. The organization made the shortlist for Integrator of the Year and these project categories:

  • Corporate Project of the Year Hyosung America’s Customer Experience Center and HQ. The experience center is all about delighting customers, and it provides a unique narrative for visitors.
  • EXPO 2020 Dubai was a colossal project for Electrosonic and featured three pavilions that would welcome millions of visitors. The concept was on the shortlist for Events and Entertainment Project of the Year and Venue Project of the Year.
  • Retail Project of the Year finalist was a retail and entertainment space covering 3.9 million square feet, involved four activation points to wow guests.
  • The Krispy Kreme Flagship Store in Times Square was also a Retail Project of the Year contender. The Doughnut Theater used specialty audio and projection mapping to invite guests to see how doughnuts are made in a multi-sensory environment.
  • The National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame 360-Degree Cinema introduced a new multimedia experience to delight and engage fans. It was a shortlist nominee for Themed Entertainment and Attractions Project of the Year.
  • The Skydeck Experience at Willis Tower was also a finalist for Themed Entertainment and Attractions Project of the Year. It delivers an authentic Chicago experience with a variety of AV installations, culminating with “The Ledge” on the 103rd floor, a glass balcony with interactive displays and motion graphic animation.
